UAE Extradites Babbar Khalsa Operative Parminder Singh to India

In a significant development for India’s counter-terror efforts, the United Arab Emirates has extradited Parminder Singh alias “Pindi,” a wanted operative of the banned Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). Singh, who had been living in the UAE, was brought back to India this week after joint efforts by the Ministry of External Affairs, Punjab Police, central agencies, and UAE authorities.

Officials said Singh played a key role in multiple terror-linked activities in Punjab, including targeted killings, bombings, and funding networks for BKI. Punjab Police described him as a major figure in sustaining the organisation’s operations from abroad. He was wanted in several cases and had Interpol notices pending against him.

The extradition is being seen as a major diplomatic success for India, as Singh had been evading Indian authorities for years. According to police, he is accused of managing funds from overseas for BKI operatives in Punjab and directing violent campaigns through local recruits. His return is expected to provide critical leads in ongoing investigations into cross-border terror financing and sleeper cells.

This handover follows a series of successful international operations in recent months, reflecting New Delhi’s push to tighten global cooperation against groups involved in terrorism and separatist activities. Security agencies are now preparing to interrogate Singh to uncover further details about BKI’s links abroad and its connections within India.

Authorities have also indicated that Singh’s extradition underscores the growing cooperation between India and Gulf countries in tackling terror networks, with the UAE playing a crucial role in facilitating the transfer.
