The United Arab Emirates has denied any involvement in an alleged strike on an Iranian desalination facility, pushing back against claims that Abu Dhabi had expanded its role in the widening regional conflict. The denial came as tensions remained high across the Gulf, with governments trying to contain fallout from the ongoing Iran-US-Israel war and prevent further diplomatic rupture.

A senior UAE official rejected claims that Abu Dhabi had taken part in an attack on Iran’s water infrastructure. The response followed reports suggesting that the UAE may have been linked to a strike on a desalination site inside Iran. By publicly denying any role, the UAE signalled that it does not want to be seen as opening a direct military front against Tehran at a time when Gulf states are already under pressure from retaliatory threats.

The reported strike on the Iranian desalination facility drew attention because such infrastructure is critical for civilian water supply, especially in sensitive coastal areas.
