Trump Warns Netanyahu Over Iran Attacks
United States President Donald Trump has warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel could be left to fight on its own if it resumes attacks on Iran, as diplomatic efforts continue to preserve a fragile ceasefire.
Trump Warning To Netanyahu
Trump reportedly told Netanyahu to be careful and warned that Israel could soon find itself “on your own” if attacks on Iran continued. The warning came after renewed exchanges between Israel and Iran threatened to derail ongoing indirect peace efforts.
Trump also said both sides must stop firing and indicated that final negotiations could continue if further escalation is avoided.
Israel-Iran Ceasefire Under Strain
The latest flare-up followed Israeli strikes linked to Lebanon, after which Iran launched missiles towards northern Israel. Israel later struck Iranian air defence systems and a petrochemical facility, while Iran responded by targeting Israeli military and industrial sites.
No deaths were immediately reported from the Israel-Iran exchange. However, the escalation raised concerns that the ceasefire, which had paused wider fighting, could collapse.
Netanyahu Defends Israeli Response
Netanyahu said Israel has the right to defend itself and warned that Iran would face a strong response if it resumed attacks. Israeli officials also played down reports of tension with Washington, while saying Israel had agreed to reduce escalation after Trump’s request.
Iran blamed the United States for the instability, arguing that Washington remains responsible as a party involved in ceasefire diplomacy. Talks between the US and Iran are continuing through intermediaries.
