Trump Jr Says US May Withdraw Support for Ukraine

Donald Trump Jr has said the United States may stop supporting Ukraine in its war against Russia. Speaking at an international forum, he claimed the country could soon stop “acting like the one writing the cheque”, indicating a possible reduction in financial and military assistance.

Criticism of Ukraine’s Leadership

Trump Jr strongly criticised Ukraine’s political and business elite. He claimed that while ordinary Ukrainians were fighting on the frontline, many wealthy leaders had left the country. He alleged that sections of the upper class had relocated abroad, leaving poorer citizens to face the war.

He also said that corruption has undermined the war effort and suggested that funds provided by foreign governments may have been misused. However, he did not provide specific evidence to support these claims during the discussion.

Focus on Domestic Problems

According to Trump Jr, many Americans feel that domestic issues, including drug trafficking from Latin America, need greater attention. He argued that public opinion in the United States is shifting towards prioritising internal problems rather than long-term involvement in external conflicts.

No Official Policy Yet

Trump Jr does not hold a government position and has no official role in shaping U.S. foreign policy. His comments, however, reflect a growing debate in American politics over the cost and duration of support for Ukraine. Any change in policy would need to be decided by the U.S. administration.

Officials have not announced any withdrawal of aid. Ukraine continues to receive military and financial assistance from the United States and other Western countries.
