The United States expressed displeasure, stating that unilateral actions of this kind should not interfere with ongoing diplomatic processes. Washington reaffirmed its support for Qatar’s mediation role.

Focus of the White House Meeting

During the talks, Trump and al-Thani discussed regional stability, Qatar’s mediation efforts, and U.S.-Qatar defense cooperation. Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio also joined the meeting.
