Trump ‘Disappointed’ Zelenskyy Hasn’t Read Peace Plan

US President Donald Trump said he was “a little disappointed” that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had not yet read the US peace proposal presented during talks in Miami. The discussions ended without a breakthrough in efforts to resolve the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Trump claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin had accepted the proposal, although Moscow later denied this.

No Breakthrough In Miami Talks

The talks brought together delegations from both countries, but major differences remained. The proposed peace plan reportedly includes restrictions on Ukraine’s military and raises questions over territorial control, which Ukraine has repeatedly said it will not concede.

Officials described the discussions as constructive but difficult, and both sides agreed that more work is needed before any agreement is possible.

What Ukraine Wants

Zelenskyy has stated that any peace deal must protect Ukraine’s sovereignty and security. He is now expected to travel to Europe to meet leaders in Britain, France and Germany to discuss the next steps.

Ukrainian officials also said they would consult with European partners before responding to the US plan.

Russia Rejects Claims

Russian officials dismissed Trump’s claim that Putin had already accepted the proposal, calling the reports inaccurate. Moscow said some of the terms remain unacceptable.

Diplomats warned that without clear consensus and international support, reaching a lasting peace agreement will be difficult.
