The manifesto also promises pucca houses for every family and piped drinking water to all households. In healthcare, the party has announced annual Duare Chikitsa camps aimed at delivering services closer to people’s homes. In education, it has promised infrastructure upgrades in government schools. On the economic front, the TMC has proposed a Rs 30,000 crore agriculture budget and said Bengal will be developed as a trade hub for eastern India with modern logistics and a global trade centre.
Mamata Banerjee Targets BJP Ahead Of Elections
At the manifesto launch, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also used the occasion to attack the BJP and the Centre. She accused the Centre of interfering in the state and raised concerns over official transfers ahead of the election. The manifesto launch comes ahead of the two-phase West Bengal Assembly election scheduled for April 23 and April 29, with counting set for May 4.
