Tickner Injured As New Zealand Dominate West Indies
New Zealand bowler Blair Tickner took four wickets on the opening day of the second Test against West Indies at Wellington. His spell helped bowl out the visitors for 205, giving the hosts an early advantage in the match. Debutant Michael Rae also impressed, picking up three wickets.
Injury ends day for pacer
Soon after his bowling success, Tickner injured his shoulder while diving near the boundary rope in an attempt to save a four. He was seen in visible pain and had to be stretchered off the field. Medical staff rushed him to hospital for scans, with the team reporting a suspected dislocation.
Hosts still in control
Despite the setback, New Zealand remained in control of the Test. By the end of the day, the home side reached 24 without loss and looked well placed to build a lead. Team management said they will wait for medical reports before confirming whether Tickner can take further part in the match.
Concerns over seam attack
The injury has added to New Zealand’s worries as the team is already missing several senior fast bowlers. With the series still in progress, the side may need to rely on younger players or part-time options if Tickner is ruled out for the rest of the game.
