Three JeM Terrorists Killed In Kishtwar

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district killed three terrorists affiliated with the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) during a joint operation on Sunday. The action, part of a sustained counter-terror effort under Operation Trashi-I, involved the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF and led to recovery of weapons including AK-47 rifles.

JeM Terrorists Killed In Kishtwar Encounter

The encounter began after specific intelligence inputs indicated the presence of JeM operatives in the Chatroo belt of Kishtwar. Security forces laid a cordon and engaged the terrorists when they opened fire. In the ensuing fight, three militants were neutralised. Bodies and war-like stores were recovered from the site, highlighting the intensity of the operation in the forested, rugged terrain.

Top JeM Commander Killed In Operation

Officials reported that among the slain militants was a top JeM commander, identified by security agencies as a key operative active in the region for several years. The commander had reportedly evaded previous encounters and was involved in multiple attacks on security forces. The elimination of such a high-value target marks a significant development in India’s counter-terror efforts in the region.

Arms Recovery And Continued Search In Kishtwar

In addition to eliminating the militants, security forces recovered two AK-47 rifles and ammunition during the operation. The area remains cordoned off and search operations are continuing to ensure no additional terrorists are hiding in the vicinity. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining pressure on militant networks and preventing infiltration into Jammu and Kashmir.
