Thiruma Alleges BJP Behind Sengottaiyan Move

VCK president Thol Thirumavalavan has accused the BJP of backing AIADMK leader K. A. Sengottaiyan’s call to reinstate expelled members. He said this was an attempt by BJP to weaken AIADMK and possibly absorb it.

Context

Sengottaiyan had been removed from his party positions by AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami. The reinstatement push came just before Sengottaiyan’s meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, prompting questions about BJP’s involvement.

Party Reaction

Thirumavalavan said the meeting between Sengottaiyan and Amit Shah shows BJP’s attitude toward AIADMK internal decisions. He warned that AIADMK’s grassroots members may strongly object if the alliance with BJP continues in spite of these developments.

Stakes For AIADMK

The developments highlight internal tensions within AIADMK. Many cadres could feel betrayed if leadership decisions appear overridden by BJP influence. Thirumavalavan’s statements suggest this could lead to dissent within party ranks.
