Textile Industry Welcomes RoDTEP Restoration
The textile industry has welcomed the Centre’s decision to restore full RoDTEP benefits, calling it a major relief for exporters facing pressure from weak global demand, higher logistics costs and uncertainty in overseas markets. The move reverses the earlier reduction in export incentives and is expected to improve competitiveness for textile units, especially in large manufacturing clusters.
Textile Industry Welcomes RoDTEP Relief
Industry representatives said the restoration of full benefits under the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products scheme will help exporters recover from the disruption caused by the earlier cut. Textile players had argued that the reduction had affected margins, export pricing and order execution at a time when the sector was already under strain from multiple external pressures.
Full RoDTEP Benefits Restored
The government has now restored the RoDTEP rates and value caps to the levels that were in force before the 50% restriction was imposed. This means eligible exporters will once again receive the earlier rebate structure meant to refund duties and taxes that are not reimbursed through other mechanisms. The decision is being seen as an important corrective step for export-oriented sectors.
Boost For Textile Exporters Amid Market Pressure
The restoration is expected to give textile exporters some breathing room as they compete with manufacturers from other major exporting countries. Industry leaders have said the move will improve pricing flexibility, support order fulfilment and help maintain India’s position in international markets. While the relief has been welcomed, exporters are also likely to seek long-term clarity on incentive support to ensure stable planning in the months ahead.
