Telangana To Be Split Into 3 Zones Under Vision 2047

Telangana will be reorganised into three development zones as part of its Telangana Rising 2047 roadmap. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy approved the proposal during a review meeting of the vision document. The three proposed zones are the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE), Peri-Urban Region Economy (PURE) and Rural Agriculture Region Economy (RARE).

Purpose Of The Division

The government says the restructuring is designed to help Telangana achieve its economic targets — a USD 1 trillion economy by 2034 and USD 3 trillion by 2047. Officials believe separate zones will allow focused policies for urban growth, expanding peri-urban areas, and rural agriculture.

Zone-Wise Focus Areas

CURE will concentrate on major urban centres, infrastructure and service-based industries. PURE will manage fast-growing peri-urban belts connecting rural and urban markets. RARE will strengthen agriculture, improve rural incomes and develop agrarian infrastructure.

Broader Vision

The 2047 plan highlights growth in pharma, aerospace, IT, MSMEs, tourism and exports. It also includes transport upgrades, rural drinking water access, renewable energy expansion and environmental restoration. Successful implementation will depend on coordination across the three zones.
