Teema Eyes Uttar Pradesh for Tech Park Expansion

The Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, commonly known as Teema, is exploring plans to expand its presence in North India by setting up a technology park in Uttar Pradesh. The move is part of efforts to strengthen manufacturing and supply chain linkages between Taiwanese electronics firms and India.

Yamuna Expressway Region in Focus

Officials aware of the discussions said the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority region is being examined as a potential site for the proposed park. The area’s connectivity to Noida and Greater Noida, along with proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport, is being viewed as a logistical advantage. The technology park is expected to accommodate electronics manufacturing units, component suppliers, and research and development facilities under a single industrial cluster.

Push to Boost Electronics Manufacturing

Teema represents a wide range of Taiwanese companies involved in electronics, semiconductors, and precision manufacturing. Its interest in Uttar Pradesh aligns with India’s broader push to attract global electronics manufacturers and integrate into international supply chains. Uttar Pradesh has been positioning itself as a manufacturing destination by offering industrial land, improving infrastructure, and promoting policy incentives.

Discussions are currently at a preliminary stage, and no final location or investment figures have been confirmed. State officials believe the project, if finalised, could generate employment, encourage technology transfer, and strengthen the state’s role in India’s electronics manufacturing landscape.
