Wessly Madhevere returns Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe have recalled all-rounder Wessly Madhevere and fast bowler Newman Nyamhuri for the three-match T20I series against India, beginning at Harare Sports Club on July 23. Zimbabwe T20I Squad Changes Madhevere returns after missing Zimbabwe’s recent series against Bangladesh, while Nyamhuri has recovered from the fitness concern that ruled him out of those matches. Fast bowler Tanaka Chivanga, who was initially brought into the Bangladesh squad as Nyamhuri’s replacement, has retained his place for the India series. Uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga has also received his maiden T20I call-up. The three additions replace Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa and Tashinga Musekiwa in the 15-member squad. Sikandar Raza Leads Zimbabwe Experienced all-rounder Sikandar Raza will continue as Zimbabwe’s T20I captain. The squad includes established players Ryan Burl, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava and Wellington Masakadza. Brian Bennett, Ben Curran, Brad Evans, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Dion Myers and Milton Shumba complete the group selected for the series. Zimbabwe enter the contest after a mixed home campaign against Bangladesh. They secured an innings victory in the one-off Test and won the ODI series 2-1, but Bangladesh recovered to take the T20I series by the same margin.
