Iran Drone Strikes Damage Kuwait Plants Kuwait has reported fresh Iranian drone strikes on critical infrastructure, with authorities saying two power generation and water desalination plants suffered serious material damage. The attacks caused the shutdown of two electricity-generating units, though officials said no casualties were reported. The incidents add to a series of recent strikes on infrastructure in the Gulf state amid the widening regional conflict. Kuwait Power and Water Plants Hit Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said Iranian drones targeted two power and water distillation facilities, damaging key installations and disrupting electricity production. Officials described the attack as a serious strike on essential public infrastructure, with two generation units taken out of service. While the full impact on supply was not immediately detailed, the incident has raised concern over the vulnerability of utility networks in the country. Iranian Drone Attacks on Kuwait Infrastructure The latest strike follows other recent attacks on Kuwaiti infrastructure. Authorities had earlier reported a fire at the Shuwaikh Oil Sector Complex, while other incidents caused damage at a government office complex. The pattern suggests that energy, logistics and public infrastructure in Kuwait are increasingly being exposed to the spillover effects of the wider US-Iran conflict. Kuwait Security Threats Deepen The attacks come at a time of mounting alarm across Gulf states hosting critical energy assets and foreign military interests. Kuwait has so far reported material damage without major loss of life, but repeated strikes on utilities and oil-linked sites have sharpened concerns over national security and continuity of essential services. The incidents also underline how regional escalation is now affecting civilian infrastructure well beyond the direct battlefield.
