India captain Rohit Sharma has emphasized the importance of maintaining calm and reflecting on the team’s performance after the historic 0-2 Test series defeat against New Zealand. This marks India's first home series loss in 12 years, the last being against England in 2012-13. Rohit acknowledged the need for discussions with certain players to improve but urged against overreacting to the setback. Rohit’s Strategic Response Following the 113-run loss in the second Test, Rohit outlined his approach to addressing the team’s shortcomings. He stressed that, while it’s necessary to talk with individual players, it should be done without creating undue pressure. Rohit mentioned the importance of trusting the players' abilities, citing their previous contributions to India's success. Preparing for the Australia Series Looking ahead to the upcoming five-match Test series in Australia, Rohit focused on providing support and clear guidance to players who have less experience. He expressed his intent to help younger players feel confident and ready for the challenge, noting that a positive atmosphere is crucial to rebuilding momentum after the series loss. Focus on Positives Despite Loss Rohit also urged everyone to focus on the broader context of India’s impressive home record, having won 42 out of 54 Tests. He reminded the team and fans that such a long period of success naturally comes with occasional setbacks. "There are more good things that have happened than bad things," Rohit said, encouraging a balanced perspective despite the defeat.
