Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric met in New York on Wednesday and pledged to strengthen bilateral cooperation, strategic trust and coordination on international platforms. China Serbia Bilateral Ties Strengthen Wang said Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic’s visit to China marked an important milestone in relations between the two countries. He said Serbia had become the first country to issue a joint statement with China on promoting Beijing’s Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, Global Civilization Initiative and Global Governance Initiative. China also reiterated support for Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while appreciating Belgrade’s continued support for the one-China principle. Hungary Serbia Railway And Cooperation Projects Wang said both sides should focus on implementing the consensus reached by their leaders and expand exchanges at different levels. He also called for progress on the Hungary-Serbia railway project, which remains a major China-backed connectivity initiative in Europe. The two sides also discussed expanding cooperation in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence and new energy. China said stronger practical cooperation would help advance what both countries describe as a community with a shared future in the new era. Serbia Calls China Reliable Partner Djuric described Vucic’s China visit as historic and said both countries had signed several cooperation documents to shape the next phase of bilateral relations. Serbia said it appreciated China’s support on sovereignty and territorial integrity and would continue to follow the one-China policy. Djuric also said Serbia remained one of China’s most reliable partners in Europe and was ready to deepen strategic coordination and mutually beneficial cooperation.
