Sam Altman advice – Bharat Pulse News

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has sounded a crucial warning to students preparing for their future careers, stressing the urgent need to master artificial intelligence tools. With AI now performing more than half of the coding tasks in several companies, Altman believes a major transformation is underway in the tech industry that will reshape the way software development and other job roles function. AI Now Powers Over Half of Coding Work Altman revealed that artificial intelligence is increasingly taking over coding responsibilities across numerous organizations. “AI is doing more than 50% of the coding in many companies,” he stated, pointing to a dramatic shift in how software is developed. This leap in automation, driven by tools such as OpenAI's own Codex and other generative models, has made AI an indispensable part of modern software teams. Students Advised to Embrace AI Tools Speaking directly to students, Altman emphasized that mastering AI tools is now as important as learning to code once was. He explained that the future of work will depend not only on knowing how to use AI tools but also on understanding how to work alongside them. “If I were starting my career today, I would focus on becoming extremely good at using AI tools,” he advised. Job Market to Shift with AI Advancements Altman acknowledged that while AI will empower software engineers to be more productive, it could also lead to reduced demand for traditional programming roles in the long term. As machines take on more routine coding tasks, the role of the human programmer is likely to evolve into one of oversight, design, and creative problem-solving. Adaptability is Key to Future Success In addition to technical skills, Altman encouraged students to cultivate adaptability and a willingness to continuously learn. He believes these traits will be critical as AI continues to disrupt industries beyond tech, reshaping everything from education to healthcare and finance. As AI integration deepens across sectors, Altman’s message is clear: those who learn to work with intelligent machines, rather than compete against them, will have the greatest advantage in the rapidly changing job landscape.
