Rhea Chakraborty – Bharat Pulse News

Nearly five years after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed its closure report, confirming that the actor died by suicide. The agency stated that there was no evidence of foul play, bringing an official end to the high-profile investigation that gripped the nation and triggered widespread public and media scrutiny. Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14, 2020. His death had initially been ruled a suicide due to asphyxia caused by hanging. However, speculation and public pressure led to multiple investigations by various central agencies, including the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Rhea Chakraborty’s Lawyer Reacts Following the closure report, Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, welcomed the CBI’s findings. He reiterated that Chakraborty had no involvement in Rajput’s death and had been falsely targeted in a media-driven narrative. He emphasized that she had left Rajput’s residence on June 8, 2020, following disagreements regarding his mental health treatment and drug usage, and had no contact with him after that. He described the case as “a pure case of suicide,” adding that the findings vindicate Chakraborty, who faced intense public backlash, legal scrutiny, and arrest during the investigation phase. Closure Brings End to Intense Public Speculation The CBI’s confirmation of suicide is expected to put to rest years of speculation, conspiracy theories, and accusations that surrounded the case. The incident had triggered a national conversation on mental health, media ethics, and the pressures of the film industry. Despite no evidence being found against Chakraborty or others during the lengthy probe, she endured sustained public harassment and was subjected to a prolonged investigation that included arrest and interrogation. End of Legal Proceedings, Beginning of Reflection With the filing of the closure report, the legal chapter of the case comes to an end. It also serves as a reminder of the consequences of trial by media and the importance of allowing law enforcement to carry out investigations without external pressure. The episode has raised broader questions about mental health support, privacy rights, and responsible reporting in high-profile cases. The final verdict from India’s top investigative agency brings closure to one of the most discussed cases in recent memory, confirming what medical and initial investigative reports had stated from the outset.
