The Indian Navy is on the verge of finalising a deal of approximately US $4 billion for the acquisition of six additional P‑8I Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft from the United States Department of Defense (DoD) via Boeing. This would raise the Indian Navy’s P-8I fleet from 12 to 18 aircraft.
