OperationMahadev – Bharat Pulse News

In a major breakthrough, security forces killed three suspected foreign terrorists during Operation Mahadev in the Harwan area near Dachigam National Park on Monday, July 28. The operation was carried out jointly by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF following specific intelligence inputs. The terrorists were believed to be hiding in a forested zone near the national park, prompting a swift and coordinated cordon-and-search operation. High Probability of Link to Pahalgam Attack Officials stated there is a high likelihood that the terrorists killed in the encounter were involved in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, mostly tourists. The attack was one of the worst to hit Kashmir in years. Security personnel recovered grenades, rifles, and other ammunition from the encounter site, indicating the group was heavily armed. Intelligence and Forensic Confirmation Underway While officials strongly suspect the deceased terrorists were among the group responsible for the Pahalgam killings, forensic teams are now conducting DNA verification and ballistic analysis to conclusively establish identities. Mobile intercepts and recovered items are also being analyzed for links to the earlier attack. Political Context: Operation Sindoor Debate The timing of the operation coincides with the beginning of a high-profile Parliament debate on Operation Sindoor, the Indian military response to the Pahalgam incident. The ruling government is under pressure to show concrete results, while the Opposition has been demanding greater transparency and accountability in counterterror operations. Operation Mahadev is likely to be cited by government leaders as proof of progress. Additional Operations Likely Following the success of Operation Mahadev, more anti-terror operations are expected in the coming days. Forces are continuing combing efforts in nearby regions to track down any remaining members of the network responsible for the Pahalgam massacre. Security agencies have reiterated their commitment to eliminating cross-border terrorism and bringing all those involved to justice.
