The spacecraft is equipped with two deployable solar arrays and houses instruments capable of peering into the moon's permanently shadowed regions to identify micro-cold traps less than a football field in size. Scientific Leadership The mission is managed by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and led by the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena. Bethany Ehlmann, a professor of planetary science at Caltech, serves as the principal investigator.
