The Maharashtra government has offered 450 acres of land in Nagpur’s additional Butibori industrial estate to the JSW Group for its ambitious lithium-ion battery manufacturing project. With an initial investment of ₹15,000 crore, this project is a cornerstone of Maharashtra's industrial growth strategy and a significant step toward India's green energy transition. Investment Boost for Nagpur The state government has sweetened the deal with incentives amounting to 110% of the project investment through state GST refunds. JSW’s battery plant, part of its broader push into advanced manufacturing, will cater to a wide range of applications, including electric vehicles (EVs) and consumer electronics.
