Kyiv missile attack – Bharat Pulse News

In a rare public rebuke, U.S. President Donald Trump has called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to halt military aggression in Ukraine following a devastating missile and drone assault on Kyiv. The overnight attack resulted in at least 12 fatalities and over 90 injuries, marking one of the deadliest strikes on the Ukrainian capital in recent months. “I am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV. Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying. Let's get the Peace Deal DONE!” This statement, posted on Trump's social media platform, underscores growing frustration over the stalled peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Trump's comments also reflect concerns about the escalating human toll of the conflict, with reports indicating that approximately 5,000 soldiers are dying weekly. Escalation Amid Peace Efforts The recent assault on Kyiv involved a combination of drones and ballistic missiles, causing widespread destruction in residential areas. Rescue operations are ongoing, with emergency services working tirelessly to locate survivors amidst the rubble. The attack has intensified international scrutiny and pressure on both Russia and Ukraine to return to the negotiating table. Trump's Diplomatic Balancing Act While Trump's admonition of Putin marks a departure from his usual rhetoric, he continues to emphasize the need for compromise. He has previously criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for rejecting proposals that include recognizing Russia's annexation of Crimea, suggesting that such stances hinder peace efforts. Trump's administration has indicated that a ceasefire plan is on the table, which includes freezing most territorial boundaries—a proposal met with resistance from Ukrainian officials. International Reactions Global leaders have expressed alarm over the recent escalation. French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the attack, reaffirming support for Ukraine's sovereignty. Meanwhile, NATO members are convening to discuss bolstering defense commitments in light of the renewed hostilities. As the conflict continues to claim lives and displace civilians, the international community watches closely, urging both nations to prioritize diplomatic solutions over military actions.
