At least 14 people were killed and more than 20 injured when a suicide bomber attacked an anti-militancy peace rally in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Suicide Bombing Targets Swat Peace Rally The explosion occurred near a police station in Kabal, a town in the Swat district, as hundreds of residents participated in a demonstration demanding peace and stronger action against militant violence. Authorities said the attacker detonated explosives after police personnel attempted to stop him near the entrance to the station. The revised death toll included nine civilians and five police officers, correcting initial reports that seven people had died. Emergency teams transported the injured to nearby hospitals, where some remained in serious condition.
