Adani Green Energy shares rose nearly 2% on Tuesday after the company commissioned a 3.37 GWh battery energy storage system at Khavda in Gujarat. The company said the project is the world’s largest single-location battery storage system outside China. The deployment includes 1.37 GWh of capacity commissioned in March 2026. With this, the company’s total operational battery storage capacity at the site has increased to 3.37 GWh. Adani Green Shares Gain Nearly 2% Following the announcement, Adani Green shares traded higher on the NSE. The stock was up around 1.95% at ₹1,438.60 during Tuesday’s session. The market reaction reflected investor interest in the company’s move into large-scale energy storage, which is becoming important as India adds more solar and wind power capacity. Battery Storage To Support Renewable Power Battery storage systems help store renewable energy and supply electricity when solar or wind generation is low. This is critical for improving grid stability and supporting round-the-clock clean power. Adani Green said the Khavda project was delivered within 10 months of starting on-site construction. The company also plans to scale its battery storage capacity to 50 GWh over the next five years.
