The statement came after KTR expressed his displeasure over the summons issued to his father, former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, by the PC Ghose Commission investigating the Kaleshwaram project. They stated unequivocally that investigations into alleged financial irregularities must not be influenced by an individual's public standing. The summons to KCR, issued by the commission led by former Chief Justice of India PC Ghose, has triggered political friction between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS in Telangana. The Commission is tasked with probing the finances and procedural handling of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, one of the most expensive state-run irrigation schemes in India.
