India rejects Turkey Kashmir comments

India has rejected Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s remarks on Jammu and Kashmir at the United Nations General Assembly, calling the references “unwarranted” and reiterating that no external country has any locus standi on the issue. India responded by firmly rejecting the remarks and stressing that Jammu and Kashmir concerns the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. The Ministry of External Affairs said no external party has any role in commenting on the matter. New Delhi Reiterates Stand on Jammu and Kashmir India has consistently maintained that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral and inalienable part of the country. New Delhi has also rejected attempts by foreign governments and international organisations to intervene in the issue, arguing that outstanding matters with Pakistan should be addressed bilaterally. Erdoğan has raised Kashmir at the UN on several occasions in recent years, drawing repeated objections from India. India-Türkiye Differences Over Kashmir Continue Erdoğan had also referred to Kashmir during a visit to Pakistan in 2025, where he called for the issue to be addressed through dialogue and with reference to UN resolutions. India lodged a protest at the time and described the comments as unacceptable. The latest exchange underlines continuing differences between New Delhi and Ankara over Kashmir despite broader diplomatic and economic engagement between the two countries.
