India has responded with a comprehensive rollback of ties — suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, revoking visa access, halting trade, and placing restrictions on airspace usage for Pakistani aircraft. Pakistan, in turn, has retaliated by suspending the Simla Agreement, shutting down its airspace for Indian carriers, ceasing trade movement, and expelling Indian diplomats. The capture of a Pakistani Ranger inside Indian territory is being closely scrutinized for its potential to escalate the already strained relations. With both countries now reinforcing their border patrols and maintaining a hardened posture, the situation remains precarious.
