The Centre has renewed its appeal for talks with the Cockroach Janta Party and student protesters, offering discussions at a time convenient to their representatives as demonstrations over the NEET paper leak continue in Delhi. Centre Renews CJP Talks Offer Union Minister Jitendra Singh said the government had sent four formal proposals for discussions since Wednesday afternoon. He described the invitation as open-ended and said the Centre was prepared to discuss all issues raised by the protesting students. Singh proposed that the meeting be held at the office or residence of Union Health Minister JP Nadda. Both ministers would attend the discussions and seek a solution through dialogue, he added. The latest outreach follows sustained protests demanding accountability over the NEET paper leak and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. CJP Seeks Neutral Meeting Venue The CJP rejected the proposed meeting at a minister’s home or office but maintained that it remained open to negotiations. Its representatives said talks should be conducted at Jantar Mantar or a neutral location near the protest site. CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said a nearby venue could be considered if officials had security concerns about holding discussions at Jantar Mantar. The organisation also intends to seek an assurance that peaceful protesters will not face fresh cases or punitive action. The demand for Pradhan’s resignation remains a central condition of the agitation. Government Acts on Paper Leaks The talks offer came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced plans to establish fast-track courts for paper leak cases. He said those responsible for jeopardising students’ futures would face swift and stringent punishment. The government’s outreach also follows protest marches and security restrictions across central Delhi. Several Metro stations were temporarily closed during the demonstrations, disrupting travel before services resumed. The Centre has urged protesters to enter negotiations, while CJP leaders have insisted that the location and conditions must be mutually acceptable.
