Govt Mandates Security Clearance for Starlink The government has made it clear that Starlink must meet strict security requirements before being allowed to operate in India. It has been specified that any foreign satellite internet provider must ensure that its operations align with national security interests. This includes obligations to store data locally, comply with regulatory frameworks, and be subject to strict monitoring to prevent any misuse of communication networks. A key requirement is that Starlink must establish a local entity in India and ensure a majority Indian ownership in its operations.
