IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd reported a 9% year-on-year increase in toll revenue for May 2025, reaching ₹581 crore compared to ₹536 crore in May 2024. This growth reflects a combination of strong highway traffic, seasonal travel during school holidays, and new vehicle registrations. The company continues to consolidate its position as one of India’s leading private toll-road operators, with multiple high-performing projects across states. IRB toll revenue performance Among its many tolling assets, the IRB MP Expressway was the top revenue earner, clocking ₹159.5 crore in May 2025, up from ₹152.6 crore the previous year. The Hyderabad ORR Golconda Expressway followed with ₹73 crore, reflecting a notable jump from ₹62.7 crore. Similarly, the Ahmedabad–Vadodara Super Express Tollway contributed ₹68.7 crore, compared to ₹64.5 crore a year ago. The recently operational TOT-12 project on NH-44 between Lalitpur and Lakhnadon also added positively to the balance sheet, generating ₹37.5 crore versus ₹35.5 crore last year. Revenue growth driven by traffic and new vehicles Deputy CEO Amitabh Murarka highlighted that the rise in toll collections was primarily driven by "a strong holiday-season spike and increased vehicular movement." He noted that approximately 4.5 lakh new vehicles—both commercial and personal—were registered across India in May, contributing directly to toll growth. Though intermittent pre-monsoon rains caused minor traffic slowdowns, they did not significantly dent the overall uptick in toll revenue. He added that IRB is confident of maintaining this growth trajectory as several ongoing infrastructure projects near completion and come online in the coming months. Expressways fuel IRB's expansion strategy IRB’s tolling portfolio now spans 24 major highway assets across 12 states, with an asset value exceeding ₹80,000 crore. The company’s key revenue generators—the MP Expressway, Golconda ORR, and Ahmedabad–Vadodara corridor—continue to lead the pack due to their strategic importance and heavy usage. The steady rise in toll income underlines the resilience of India’s road infrastructure sector and positions IRB Infra as a pivotal player in the country’s mobility-driven economic expansion. The company expects this trend to hold through the fiscal year, aided by capacity expansion and traffic volume growth across national corridors.
