Ethiopia Volcano Eruption Sends Ash Toward India

The Hayli Gubbi volcano in Ethiopia’s Afar region erupted after a long period of dormancy, releasing a large ash and sulfur-dioxide plume. Meteorological tracking shows the plume drifting across the Red Sea toward Yemen and Oman before reaching parts of northwest India, including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi-NCR, Haryana and Punjab. Aviation authorities in India issued alerts
