EEPC India – Bharat Pulse News

The Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) India has called upon the central government to introduce faceless GST audits in the upcoming Union Budget 2025. The recommendation aims to streamline compliance processes, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, and boost the ease of doing business for exporters. Proposal to Enhance Transparency and Efficiency EEPC India highlighted the need for a faceless audit mechanism to reduce human intervention and potential delays in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance process. "Introducing faceless GST audits will not only foster transparency but also eliminate unnecessary complexities faced by businesses during audits," the organization stated. This measure is expected to provide relief to exporters who often face challenges in navigating the existing manual audit system. The council believes this move will align with the government’s Digital India initiative and further strengthen India’s position as a global manufacturing and export hub. Focus on Supporting Exporters In addition to the GST audit proposal, EEPC India has urged the government to consider export-oriented policies that address current challenges in the engineering sector. The council emphasized the importance of providing incentives to boost manufacturing, improve export competitiveness, and address logistical constraints. With engineering exports playing a pivotal role in India’s economy, accounting for a significant share of the country’s export basket, the council stressed the need for a robust policy framework to support growth in this sector. Anticipation for Budget 2025 As the Union Budget 2025 approaches, EEPC India’s recommendations reflect broader industry expectations for reforms that enhance operational efficiency and promote business growth. The introduction of faceless GST audits, if implemented, is expected to be a game-changer for the sector. Exporters are hopeful that their voices will be heard, paving the way for policies that simplify compliance, foster innovation, and elevate India’s global trade footprint.
