Delhi excise case – Bharat Pulse News

A Delhi court on Friday discharged former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case, bringing significant relief to the Aam Aadmi Party leader. The order came after months of legal proceedings linked to the now-scrapped 2021–22 Delhi liquor policy. Delhi Court Discharges Kejriwal In Excise Policy Case The Rouse Avenue Court ruled that there was insufficient evidence to proceed against Arvind Kejriwal in connection with alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi excise policy. The court observed that the material placed on record did not establish criminal intent or conspiracy warranting trial at this stage. The decision effectively ends the current proceedings against him in this particular case unless challenged in a higher court. The excise policy case had triggered a major political controversy and led to multiple investigations and arrests over the past two years. Emotional Reaction After Court Verdict Following the court’s decision, Kejriwal appeared visibly emotional outside the courtroom. Speaking briefly to reporters, he said he had faith in the judicial process and maintained that the allegations were politically motivated. Supporters gathered near the court premises welcomed the order and described it as a moment of relief. Political And Legal Implications The verdict is expected to have political implications in Delhi, where the case has been a central issue in recent debates. Legal experts noted that investigative agencies retain the option to appeal the order in a higher court. The development marks a key moment in the long-running excise policy matter, which has seen extensive scrutiny at both political and judicial levels.
