BSE Ltd will enter India’s benchmark Nifty 50 index, replacing IT major Wipro in the latest semi-annual index reshuffle. The change will take effect from September 30, giving BSE a place among the country’s 50 leading listed companies tracked by the benchmark. The reshuffle will be implemented after the close of trading on September 29 and will become effective from September 30. Wipro to Exit Nifty 50 Wipro will leave the Nifty 50 following the latest review, ending its position in the benchmark index. The change comes during a challenging period for Indian information technology stocks, with investors closely watching global technology spending, artificial intelligence-related disruption and demand from major overseas markets. Wipro will continue to remain listed and represented in other market indices despite its removal from the Nifty 50. BSE Inclusion Could Trigger Fund Flows BSE’s addition to the benchmark is expected to increase institutional attention towards the stock. Passive mutual funds and exchange-traded funds that track the Nifty 50 will need to rebalance their portfolios to reflect the updated index composition. The inclusion also marks another milestone in BSE’s recent market performance as India’s capital markets continue to benefit from rising retail participation and increased household investment in financial assets.
