Melbourne Renegades Face Perth Scorchers The match will be treated as a home fixture for the Melbourne Renegades, who will take on the Perth Scorchers in the opening game of the new season. Both teams will receive additional time to travel back to Australia before playing their next matches in the tournament. Several BBL franchises had reportedly expressed interest in participating in the Chennai match. However, scheduling pressures, commercial considerations and the need to minimise travel disruption influenced the final team selection.
