Sukhoi-30 Fighter Aircraft Missing In Assam The Indian Air Force confirmed that a Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft went missing during a routine sortie over Assam. The aircraft had taken off from an airbase in the region when contact with ground control was suddenly lost. Officials said that communication with the aircraft was interrupted during the mission, leading to concerns about the aircraft’s status. The Sukhoi-30 is one of the IAF’s most advanced multi-role fighter jets and is widely used for air defence and strike missions. The exact circumstances surrounding the loss of communication are still under investigation as authorities work to determine what caused the aircraft to disappear from radar. Search Operations Launched By Indian Air Force Following the loss of contact, the Indian Air Force initiated search and rescue operations in the region. Multiple aircraft and ground teams have been deployed to locate the missing fighter jet. Search teams are focusing on areas where the aircraft was last detected, including difficult terrain that could complicate rescue efforts. Local authorities and emergency services have also been alerted to assist in the operation. The Indian Air Force routinely activates emergency search protocols whenever an aircraft loses communication during flight operations. Sukhoi-30 Role In Indian Air Force Fleet The Sukhoi-30 forms a key component of India’s fighter aircraft fleet and is widely used for both air superiority and precision strike missions. The aircraft is capable of carrying a wide range of weapons and conducting long-range operations. Incidents involving fighter aircraft losing communication are rare but can occur due to technical issues, weather conditions, or operational factors. Investigations typically follow such events to determine the cause and prevent similar occurrences in the future. Authorities continue to monitor the search operation as efforts intensify to locate the aircraft and determine the status of the crew.
