all-party meet – Bharat Pulse News

In the aftermath of the tragic Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 civilian lives, the Congress party has expressed its expectation that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will convene an all-party meeting to discuss the national response. The party emphasized the need for political unity and collective strategy in the face of such a serious security breach. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge underscored the importance of inclusivity during moments of national crisis, stating that the government should seek input from all political parties before taking further decisions. An all-party meeting, he suggested, would foster a more unified and informed approach to national security and diplomacy. Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram echoed this sentiment, asserting that the government must explore all options and take a well-considered approach to retaliation or diplomatic action. He added that the Congress is fully prepared to support any effective measure taken by the Centre to safeguard the nation and bring the perpetrators to justice. Government Response and Political Collaboration Responding to growing political consensus, the government has announced that an all-party meeting will be held in Parliament in the coming days. This session is expected to serve as a forum for briefings on intelligence inputs, counter-terror measures, and the broader diplomatic fallout of the attack. The massacre took place in the Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam, a well-known tourist site in South Kashmir. Militants opened fire on a group of vacationers, killing 26 and injuring many more. The Resistance Front (TRF), a group linked to the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the act. In the days following the attack, India has escalated diplomatic pressure on Pakistan, downgraded bilateral ties, suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, and declared several Pakistani military diplomats persona non grata. A Moment for National Unity As emotions run high and security forces tighten surveillance across sensitive regions, political leaders have urged the country to stay united. Congress’s call for the Prime Minister to lead the all-party discussion signals a push for a collaborative, non-partisan strategy to tackle terrorism and assert India’s stance globally. With the government showing signs of responsiveness and the opposition rallying behind the cause, the upcoming all-party meeting may serve as a crucial moment of national solidarity — one that transcends political divisions and underscores the need to confront terrorism with a unified voice.
