Akmal – Bharat Pulse News

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal has sharply criticised the national team after its 2-1 ODI series defeat to Bangladesh, calling the side’s recent performances deeply disappointing. His comments came after Bangladesh sealed the three-match series in Dhaka, a result that has added to scrutiny over Pakistan’s form, team balance and consistency in the 50-over format. Pakistan Series Loss To Bangladesh Draws Criticism Akmal said Pakistan’s performances no longer inspire serious analysis and described the defeat as a major embarrassment. His remarks followed Pakistan’s failure to build on their win in the second ODI after Bangladesh had taken the opening match. The series defeat has triggered fresh questions over the team’s batting depth, bowling execution and ability to respond under pressure in away conditions. Bangladesh Secure ODI Series Win In Dhaka Bangladesh won the series 2-1 after taking the decider by 11 runs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. The hosts had already made a strong start to the series with victory in the first ODI before Pakistan bounced back in the second match to level it. In the final game, Bangladesh posted 290 for 5, with Tanzid Hasan Tamim scoring a century, and then defended the total despite a fighting hundred from Salman Ali Agha during Pakistan’s chase. Pakistan Team Form Under Renewed Spotlight The series result has intensified debate around Pakistan’s current direction in one-day cricket, especially after another inconsistent overseas campaign. While captain Shaheen Shah Afridi defended the younger players and backed the team’s long-term development, criticism from former cricketers has reflected wider frustration over repeated batting collapses and missed opportunities. For Bangladesh, the series win stands out as an important home achievement and another sign of growing confidence in their ODI setup.
