In a landmark development for India’s space program, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully conducted the first hot test of its powerful 200-tonne thrust semi-cryogenic engine. Advanced Engine with 2000 kN Thrust The engine is fueled by a combination of Liquid Oxygen (LOX) and refined kerosene (RP-1), delivering a thrust of 2000 kilonewtons. This semi-cryogenic propulsion system is intended to replace the current liquid core stage of ISRO’s heaviest operational launcher—the LVM3. The upgrade is expected to significantly increase the rocket's payload-carrying capacity, enabling it to transport heavier satellites and cargo into higher orbits.
