Storms And Rain To Ease North India Heat

After several days of rising temperatures across northern India, weather authorities have forecast thunderstorms, rain and hailstorms that could bring temporary relief from the early March heat. The expected change in weather is linked to an approaching western disturbance that may trigger storm activity across several states in the region.

Storms And Rain Forecast Across North India

Meteorological officials have predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty winds and rainfall across parts of northern India. Regions expected to be affected include Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and nearby areas where temperatures had recently climbed above seasonal averages.

The system is likely to bring cloudy skies along with intermittent rain and thunderstorm activity over the next few days. Such weather patterns are commonly associated with western disturbances interacting with local atmospheric conditions over the northern plains.

Western Disturbance Behind Weather Shift

Meteorologists say the weather change is being driven by a fresh western disturbance approaching northwest India. These systems typically originate outside the Indian subcontinent and move across the Himalayan region, often bringing rainfall, storms and cooler temperatures to north India.

The disturbance may also produce strong winds, lightning and isolated hailstorms in areas where convective cloud development becomes intense.

Relief From Rising March Temperatures

The incoming storm system is expected to reduce daytime temperatures in several northern cities where the early March heat had been intensifying. Rainfall and thunderstorms in recent days have already brought short-term cooling in parts of the region.

While the storms may provide relief from the heat, authorities advise residents to remain cautious during thunderstorms due to the risks associated with lightning, gusty winds and sudden heavy rainfall.
