Starlink Announces Residential Plan For India

tarlink has revealed the pricing for its residential satellite internet service as the company prepares for a full commercial launch in India, subject to final regulatory approvals. The plan now appears on the official portal for Indian customers.

Monthly Subscription And Hardware Cost

The monthly subscription has been listed at ₹8,600. To use the service, customers must also purchase a one-time hardware kit costing ₹34,000, which includes the dish antenna, router and mounting equipment.

Starlink is offering unlimited data and a 30-day trial period for new users. The company claims 99.9% uptime and says the service will continue functioning during difficult weather conditions.

Focus On Remote And Underserved Areas

According to Starlink, the service is aimed at households and communities where conventional broadband is unavailable or unreliable. Because it uses satellites instead of ground fibre, the company expects strong demand from rural and remote locations.

Prices are higher than most urban broadband plans, but analysts believe reliability and reach will attract customers in areas with weak connectivity.

Launch Pending Regulatory Approval

Although pricing has been revealed, the service still shows “pending regulatory approval” in India. The rollout will depend on spectrum allocation, local ground stations and formal licensing.

Starlink has started hiring in India and plans to set up ground infrastructure in multiple cities once approvals are issued.
