Shivakumar Denies Rift, Says ‘No Difference’ With CM

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar has rejected speculation of a political tussle with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, saying he “knows his limits” and that there is no difference between the two leaders. His remarks came after a private breakfast meeting aimed at easing ongoing political rumours.

Leaders Present Joint Stand Amid Speculation

Shivakumar said media reports about disagreements were exaggerated and insisted that both leaders were working together as per the party’s directions. Siddaramaiah echoed the same message, stating that their priority is governance and fulfilling commitments made to the public.

Focus on Governance and Upcoming Elections

Both leaders said their attention remains on delivering programmes promised in the state budget and preparing for future electoral challenges, including local body polls and the 2028 Assembly elections. They stressed that stability in the government remains the top priority.

Power-Sharing Debate Remains Unsettled

Despite assurances of unity, questions persist about the reported 2023 power-sharing understanding, which suggested Shivakumar might take over as Chief Minister mid-term. Neither leader addressed the issue directly, stating only that they will abide by the Congress high command’s decision.
