Shinde Warns Shiv Sena Leaders On Discipline
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has issued a strict warning to his Shiv Sena faction leaders and MLAs, urging them to uphold discipline in public life. Speaking at a closed-door party meeting in Dadar, Shinde cautioned members not to test his patience, saying, “Don’t compel me to take action.”
Concern Over Recent Controversies
The statement follows a series of controversies involving party members—one MLA was recently caught assaulting a canteen worker, and another was seen with large amounts of unaccounted cash. Shinde expressed his displeasure, stating, “When you misbehave, people blame me. Your disrepute becomes mine.”
He emphasised that public life demands accountability and humility, reminding leaders that their actions reflect on the entire party.
Leadership Requires Responsibility
Calling for a shift in attitude, Shinde said, “No matter your position, you are first a party worker.” He warned against arrogance and complacency, highlighting that ministers had faced removal in the past due to public backlash. “I don’t want to take harsh steps, but I won’t hesitate if needed,” he added.
Upcoming Challenges Ahead
With political developments intensifying in Maharashtra, Shinde signalled that discipline and unity would be crucial in the coming months. He encouraged his MLAs and ministers to speak less, work more, and remain conscious of public perception.
Shinde’s message comes at a time when the Shiv Sena faces pressure to present a cohesive, responsible image ahead of key political milestones.
