Russia Mocks Trump-Musk Feud, Offers to Mediate for Starlink Shares

The ongoing public feud between U.S. President Donald Trump and tech mogul Elon Musk has taken a bizarre international turn, with former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev offering a tongue-in-cheek proposal to mediate the dispute — in exchange for shares in Starlink. In a post filled with sarcasm, Medvedev suggested Russia was prepared to broker peace between “D and E” for a “reasonable fee,” saying they would gladly accept equity in Musk’s satellite internet company as payment.

Elon Musk responded with a laughing emoji, clearly amused by the offer, even as his spat with Trump has escalated into a full-blown public spectacle.

Russia Offers ‘Asylum’ and Business Opportunities

The Kremlin’s sarcasm didn’t stop there. Russian lawmaker Dmitry Novikov chimed in, joking that Musk could seek political asylum in Russia if he ever found himself out of favor in the U.S. Former Russian space agency chief Dmitry Rogozin also joined the mockery, inviting Musk to relocate his business operations to Russia, promising “freedom of technical creativity” and “reliable comrades.”

While these comments were likely made in jest, they reflect Russia’s keen interest in capitalizing on Western divisions — and its love for trolling global elites when opportunities arise.

Feud Impacting Markets and Musk’s Fortunes

The feud began when Musk harshly criticized Trump’s legislative proposal, mockingly dubbed the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” calling it economically reckless. Trump fired back, accusing Musk of being unstable and threatening to review and possibly cancel all federal contracts awarded to Musk’s companies.

As the verbal war continued, Tesla’s stock value dropped sharply, reportedly wiping out nearly $150 billion in market capitalization. The feud has now moved beyond boardrooms and political podiums to global satire, dragging in governments, lawmakers, and social media commentators.

A Global Spectacle

What started as a domestic clash between two influential personalities has turned into a transnational episode of political theatre. While some observers see it as trivial ego warfare, others are concerned about the real-world implications, especially on tech markets, investor confidence, and diplomatic perceptions.

In the age of digital diplomacy and meme-driven headlines, even world leaders appear ready to join the drama — especially when there’s a punchline and a few shares of Starlink on the table.
