RSS Intensifies Peace Efforts in Manipur Through Dialogue

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has taken a more prominent role in promoting peace in violence-torn Manipur, aiming to bridge divides between the Meitei and Kuki communities through dialogue and social outreach. The developments were shared during the recent three-day Prant Pracharak Baithak held in New Delhi, where RSS leadership emphasized community-level interventions to reduce hostility and foster trust.

Manipur Peace

According to the RSS, ground reports suggest that while full normalcy remains distant, the situation is showing visible improvement. “There is a modicum of peace,” stated Sunil Ambekar, head of the RSS’s national media department, indicating that a fragile calm has begun to take hold in some parts of the state. This follows more than a year of ethnic conflict that has claimed over 260 lives and displaced thousands.

RSS Dialogue

The organization revealed that its volunteers are engaged in quiet dialogue initiatives involving both Meitei and Kuki groups. These interactions are meant to break the cycle of silence and suspicion that has deepened the divide between the two communities. “Things are moving in a positive direction… We believe a solution will be found,” Ambekar said, reflecting cautious optimism about long-term reconciliation.

Community Trust

Beyond direct mediation, the RSS is planning a series of outreach activities under its centenary celebrations, including Hindu Sammelans and Samajik Sadbhav Baithaks, to bring together various social groups and rebuild fractured local relationships. The aim is to use social events as platforms for trust-building and mutual respect, reinforcing the idea of peaceful coexistence through shared civil spaces and dialogue.
