RSS Chief Calls for Nationwide Outreach to Unite Hindus
RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, during his recent visit to Kanpur, called upon swayamsevaks to intensify grassroots-level engagement and ensure “contact with every family in the shakha area.” Speaking to volunteers at a local school, he emphasized that the RSS must “work to unite all Hindus” through value-based education, familial harmony, and cultural revitalization within every household. According to him, the re-establishment of Sanatan traditions must begin at the level of individual families and communities.
Bhagwat reiterated that the Sangh’s focus is not merely organisational but also civilizational—aiming to instill character and moral discipline, and creating individuals who are responsible to their families, society, and the nation.
Building a Casteless and Harmonious Society
As part of the RSS’s centenary campaign “Panch Parivartan,” Bhagwat outlined a vision for a more egalitarian Hindu society. He said that Hindu unity must transcend caste barriers, ensuring equal access to temples, water bodies, and cremation grounds for all communities. He urged swayamsevaks to support inclusive practices during rituals and festivals, and actively participate in creating a shared spiritual and social space for all castes.
This, according to Bhagwat, is essential for dissolving long-standing social divisions and creating a Hindu identity based on mutual respect and equal dignity. The centenary initiative aims to serve as a social correction tool alongside the RSS’s long-standing cultural and nationalist work.
National Strength Through Social Cohesion
Bhagwat also stressed that true national strength stems from internal cohesion. In his address, he warned of external threats and “wicked forces at the borders,” suggesting that India’s peace, military preparedness, and economic growth depend heavily on societal solidarity.
He linked the idea of Hindu unity directly to India’s global rise, asserting that without internal harmony, national resurgence would remain incomplete. Through structured outreach, disciplined training, and moral awareness, Bhagwat believes the RSS can lead a movement that strengthens India from within—socially, spiritually, and strategically.
The message marked a continued push by the Sangh to position itself as a cultural and moral force shaping India’s future, while redefining nationalism through the lens of unity and spiritual rootedness.
