RSS Chief Bhagwat Says ‘Bharatiyata’ Key to Solving Global Crisis

RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat has said that “Bharatiyata” or Indian-ness is the only solution to the challenges faced by the world today. Addressing the launch of a book titled Swatantra Bharat Ke Sanskriti Bodh, Bhagwat emphasized that Indian culture, with its inclusive, holistic, and universal approach to life, offers answers to modern conflicts, violence, and unrest.

World Facing Ethical and Cultural Confusion

According to Bhagwat, the current global order, heavily driven by materialism and self-interest, has led to widespread unrest, moral confusion, and disintegration of communities. He argued that the West is beginning to realize the limitations of such a system, and countries are now looking to civilizational models that prioritize balance and harmony.

He remarked, “The world is going through crises not just economically or politically, but spiritually and socially. The cure lies in embracing the foundational values of Bharatiya civilization, which promote peace, cooperation, and respect for all forms of life.”

Indian Thought Not Just Religious, But Civilizational

Bhagwat stressed that Indian civilization cannot be reduced to religion alone, and its strength lies in the integration of knowledge, science, spirituality, and social conduct. He said that the ideas born from this land are not parochial or sectarian but have universal relevance.

He said the world must understand that “Bharatiyata is not nationalism in the Western sense but the civilizational expression of inclusive and sustainable living.”

Call to Preserve Cultural Heritage

Bhagwat also urged Indians to take pride in their civilizational heritage and promote its values across the world. He warned that imitating the West blindly could lead to alienation from one’s roots. He called upon youth, intellectuals, and cultural institutions to engage with Indian traditions and reinterpret them for the modern era.
