Report Bomb, Drone Parts Immediately: Punjab CM to Public

In light of the heightened security situation across northern India, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has issued a public appeal urging citizens to exercise caution and responsibility. Addressing the ongoing aerial threat posed by hostile drones and potential missile debris, Mann called on the people of Punjab to “immediately” inform authorities if they come across any part of a bomb, drone, or missile.

They will come there and defuse it. Don’t rush there to see it,” Mann said, warning against the dangers of approaching or handling suspicious objects found in public spaces or agricultural lands.

The Chief Minister’s statement comes amid increasing drone sightings and missile interception activities across several Indian states, including Punjab, following escalated cross-border hostilities. The Indian Army and Air Defence forces have been engaged in neutralising multiple aerial threats, some of which may result in debris falling in civilian areas.

Citizens Advised Against Panic and Rumour Mongering

Mann also advised residents not to panic or spread unverified information. In times of high alert, false alarms or rumours can add to chaos and obstruct official response efforts. “Please don’t believe rumours,” he said, urging the public to trust information only from official channels.

Local administrations and police departments have been directed to remain vigilant and respond promptly to any reported sightings of unidentified flying objects or debris. Emergency hotlines have also been activated across border districts to receive tip-offs from residents.

The appeal is part of broader state and national efforts to keep civilians safe while the armed forces handle defence operations. Security experts have warned that fragments from neutralised drones or missiles could pose lethal risks if mishandled.

Punjab continues to be one of the most sensitive regions in the current security environment, given its proximity to the international border and history of being a corridor for cross-border threats.
